subRAID disk subsystem

The subRAID hardware based RAID sub-system provides an operating system independent RAID 1 (disk mirroring) implementation using standard hard disks.  The unit connects to a single IDE channel and appears to the computer as a single disk.  All disk updates are written concurrently to both drives so you always have an "up to the second" copy of your data.  With no controller card, application or driver to install there is no room for incompatibility. In the event of a disk failure, the subRAID system sounds an alarm (which can be silenced at the push of a button) to alert you but your system continues to operate normally.  The integrated LCD panel indicates which disk has failed  Simply slide the failed drive out of the unit, slip in a replacement, and the subRAID system will immediately start rebuilding the mirror.  All of this is accomplished without shutting the system down.

Both PATA and SATA models are available.

"I have travelled the length and breadth of this country and talked with the best people, and I can assure you that data processing is a fad that won't last out the year." -- The editor in charge of business books for Prentice Hall, 1957.

I'm no fan of the Business Software Alliance (BSA) or their predecessor CAAST (Canadian Alliance Against Software Theft), regular visitors to our website will know that.  I don't disagree with their position that their member companies should be paid for their products -- that would be silly.   Read more...
